I have a passion to help people to cook fresh, seasonal and sustainable food. It’s easier than many people think and is a skill for life & love.” – Carl Legge

The Permaculture Kitchen explains how to make tasty meals, driven by seasonal, foraged, home-grown, local, fresh, free range produce, including meat and sustainably caught fish. Learn how to develop recipe ideas ‘on the fly’ and the secrets of weekly and seasonal meal planning. This is a cookbook for gardeners who love to eat their own produce, and for people who enjoy a weekly veggie box or supporting their local farmer’s market. There are recipes for meals that can be easily cooked in 30 minutes or less with additional tips on how to make further dishes from leftovers. The ultimate grow your own and local produce cooking guide.

“I just love the spirit of this book. It’s not just a cookbook, it’s a great approach to food and to life.” – Diana Henry, Sunday Telegraph Food Writer, and Food Writer of the Year 2013

Carl Legge is a self taught cook, forager and home brewer. He lives with his wife Debs on a smallholding on the Llŷn Peninsula in North Wales. Carl says, “We’re trying to manage our holding along Permaculture lines. Permaculture is a way to think about, design and use your environment so it is resilient and sustainable. We’re not completely self sufficient, but we aim at ‘optimum sufficiency’ given our land, time and energy resources…. We keep chickens and in the past have kept geese, ducks, turkeys and pigs.” He is the author of The Permaculture Kitchen.

Listen to Carl Legge speak about:

  • *The challenges and joys of life on a small holding in North Wales;
  • *The principles of permaculture;
  • *Easy to follow recipes to create attractive meals all year round.
  • (Please note that the sound quality is affected in places by what Carl Legge describes as ‘rural internet’).
