This year Winter Solstice falls on Saturday December the 21st 17.11pm GMT. The winter solstice, the shortest day of the year, is the point at which the days start to become longer and the light slowly begins to increase. Will you be marking the Solstice this winter and if so how will you be spending it? Why not take time out from shopping and Christmas preparations to share a meal or take a walk on a beach or a hill and to honour the turning of the seasons and give thanks for the rising of the sun? We would love to hear your plans if you’d like to share them

For inspiration in creating your own celebration have a look at The White Goddess and Brighter Blessings web pages.

Or if you are looking for events  Chalice Well Trust in Glastonbury are having their annual celebration and there are also events at Corfe castle and Stone Henge
