What Journey does your Cygnus Review take?

Thank you Shani Williams for sending us this lovely photo of your Hungarian wirehaired Vizsla, Tunci, bringing you your latest copy of the Cygnus Review just before Christmas. We love it!

Waiting for spring…

Waiting for spring…
Can spring be on the way?
What would you say?
The lashing rain scours the lingering snow
from nooks and corners
of drear winter’s icy show.
Brave snowdrops pierce
the wind-swept mud
And frosted berries oversee
the first come crocus bud.
But listen to the blackbird!
He sings a cheerful song.
‘Make way, make way’
he seems to say,
‘For welcome, spring is on the way’.

My spring garden with poppies delicate as lace

The golden hues the seas of blue,
the flowing colours the drop of dew

Theres is such a beauty
in the blooms of spring
Watching them grow
just makes my heart sing.

The foxgloves sway so tall with grace,
the pansies so cheerful
with the happiest face.

The grannies bonnets dance
like fairies in the breeze,
the blues of the bluebells
like the waves of the seas.

The sun on the trees bring the sap to arise,
the song of the blackbird
a wonderful surprise.

The birds are well busy
frolicking with zest,
so joyful to watch
them making a nest.

The dawn chorus not to be missed,
the sweet sound of music
a melody of bliss.

With the warmth of the sun
and a glow on your face,
this magical time be sure to embrace.

Sacred vessel

Here’s for the body, our primary home
That we keep walking out on
and leaving alone
When your souls’ crying out
for a dance that is free
Can you move your body spontaneously?

Remember, remember the body again
Take a breath, feel inside,
let it in, don’t be shy
Where you slip into the future
or go back in the past
Your body will show you
that this moment lasts.

It’s the only domain that
you have in your hands
That you have in your bones
and your skin and your toes
In your feet and your back
and your heart and your nose
It’s the place you began in.
Tis your body who knows

If you touch into your
sacred vessel of birth
You can feel your true value
and love your real worth
Take a breath, feel your soles,
let go what you hold
The body beloved, the body will know.

‘How to have the best morning ever!’

Thank you Louisa. I always enjoy reading your thoughts and tips and this one really resonated with me. A good morning makes such a difference to the day and as you say: it is in the everyday people and circumstances where we can find so much beauty and inspiration if we open our hearts to it. Thank you for reminding us.

Before going to sleep each night I jot down three things which made me smile that day. It could be anything from seeing the first butterfly, a stranger sharing a smile, a plant still doing well despite the cold and the rain….anything. It make you focus on lovely things, settles your mind and aides a good nights rest.

Thank you for this article: it really gave me a lift this morning! I do tend to drift towards the mundane sometimes, which leaves me disconnected from so many wonders. Reading your articles often leaves me realising just how much I value my Cygnus membership.
